Why We Love Dance

Dance is both exercise and art form. It allows for self-expression, while also requiring discipline and skills mastery. Basically, dance is challenging—and exhilarating!

When you dance, your cardiovascular system improves, your muscle tone increases and you burn calories. Dance and tumbling increase flexibility, strength, posture, and balance. In addition, your brain uses multiple areas simultaneously, reminding you of steps and keeping you in rhythm, amongst other things.

Dance is also social. You’ll meet new people and make new friends over a common bond. Dancers also get to experience different world cultures and become familiar with various historical eras through different styles of music and dance.

Dance can lead to scholarship and career opportunities. Skills obtained while learning dance can be used in school and in almost any profession out there.

Most importantly, dance increases self-esteem and confidence, allowing you to be your best you!
